Campus and Community
Founded in 1961, Laguna College of Art and Design began as Laguna Beach School of Art (LBSA). The school has a main campus in Laguna Beach and educational affiliates locally and around the world including Florence Academy of Arts in Florence, Italy, Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, and NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences (NHTV), Netherlands. Graduates of the Cal State Fullerton Department of Visual Arts go on to enroll in graduate or doctoral programs at institutions such as Rutgers University, New York University (NYU), University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Parsons School of Design, and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

In their Senior year, students will also complete a summer internship or study abroad experience in College of Design’s Rome Program or Graphic Design in Europe. The Roski School's partnership and affiliation with the contemporary design community in Los Angeles, such as American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), is also critical component of the MFA Design Program. The school says students are also “encouraged to follow an integrated approach by selecting from various areas while observing a prerequisite system designed to allow in-depth study in specific disciplines.” Other program highlights include internship and study abroad opportunities. Founded in 1861 as Hesperian College, Chapman University is a business, entertainment, and technology college that serves approximately 10,000 students from just 49 states, two territories, and 82 countries. Chapman University is accredited by the WASC Senior College & University Commission (WSCUC).
Graduates of all programs at Cal Poly enjoy a high employment rate (or graduate school). Around 95% of the school’s alumni are either employed or enrolled in a graduate program within nine months of graduation. Others are Interaction Designers, Product Managers, Digital Product Designers, and Entrepreneurs. Around 96% of Rhode Island School of Design graduates are employed one year after graduation, with 70% employed in positions directly related to their major. RISD Graphic Design alumni are Senior Graphic Designers, UX Designers, Product Designers, Industrial Designers, Textile Designers, Creative Designers, Art Directors, and Brand Identity Designers, among others. SCAD alumni go on to work for organizations like CNN and LinkedIn – graduate Shandon Melvin is currently the creative director for the NFL, where he oversees the league’s identity and branding of all teams. The ISDA connects aspiring designers with professionals in the community; additionally, members embark on day trips and weekend excursions, as well as trips to the annual regional conference.

Maryland Institute College of Art

Today, as one institution known as The New School Parsons, this art and design college serves more than 5,000 students enrolled in 130 degree and diploma programs. Around 275 additional students attend Parsons Paris, which offers undergraduate, graduate, minor, and summer programs. Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) houses the Graphic Design Department, which offers BFA and MFA degrees in Graphic Design. Each year in the program “builds on the experience of the previous as a sequence of additional classes explore image-making, typography and design history.
